What You’ll Learn:

Start with an introduction to the unique characteristics and expressive possibilities of pixel art. Through simple projects using Pixaki, also known as “dot painting,” you’ll develop foundational skills. Though it might look simple, mastering pixel art takes practice!

Color Selection & Atmosphere Creation:

The atmosphere of pixel art depends heavily on color choices. You’ll learn how to convey emotions, seasons, and times of day through color selection. Topics include:

Choosing shadow and highlight colors

Creating harmony between characters and backgrounds

Animating with Pixaki:

Explore Pixaki’s animation features, including how to divide layers for movement like blinking and hair flow. In the second half of the course, you’ll build on earlier line art to create dynamic dot animations, bringing your pixel characters to life.
